Where are accelerator magnets used?

Particle accelerators, no matter if linear accelerator or ring accelerator – are highly complex systems consisting of thousands of components. Electromagnets are an essential component alongside power converters, vacuum chambers, particle sources and control systems.

The electromagnetic field interacts with the particle beam in order to keep it on track and to focus the particle bunches.
