PROJECT “SÜDZUCKER” - FULL COMPLETION IN ONLY TWO WEEKS!
PAMO was able to complete the entire “Südzucker” project in just two weeks. The on-site disassembly of the three three-phase motors was performed from 25th to 26th March 2019. The motors had to be removed from the plant on trolleys. After transport to the factory workshop, the required inspections and repairs were planned for the period from 26 March to 4 April. Moreover, the two 927 kW motors were equipped with separately driven fans and sleeve bearings so that ultrasonic and dye penetration testing had to be performed by the Technical Control Board. These tests did not reveal any abnormalities. However, the checks of the motor showed that the labyrinth seals of the sleeve-bearing machines had to be replaced. There was no time to waste when ordering the necessary spare parts because 4th April, as the planned return date, was getting closer and closer. The new labyrinth seals were delivered on 1 April, and the employees started the installation immediately. The deep groove ball bearings for the 785 kW motor had already been reserved in advance, which meant that timely completion was not in danger in this respect. After final assembly, outgoing checks and a new coat of paint, the motors were delivered right on schedule on 4 April. Finally, the motors were reassembled and coupled, aligned by way of laser optics on the customer’s premises, and then the whole equipment was successfully commissioned.
