REPAIR OF A TURBINE-TYPE ROTOR FROM FRANCE
The order to us was as follows: Overhaul of a turbine-type rotor of a fan motor for a steel works blast furnace in France. During the repair, we determined weaknesses in the insulation of the winding; therefore, we performed rewinding with new copper. Our service and repair activities involved the following: Disassembly of the rotor caps, measurement of the winding, and removal of the old winding, cleaning and rework of the rotor bodies, ordering and packing of new copper, mechanical processing and bending of the longitudinal and head parts, mounting and fixing of the winding, installation of the cap insulation, mounting of the rotor caps and add-on parts (fans, coupling), testing and balancing, protective varnish, and elaboration of the appropriate documentation.
