PAST MEETS PRESENT

During a recent generator repair, our employees discovered something really interesting when they removed the laminated core.

When the core was manufactured in 1912, the workers involved had noted the date and time on the insulating paper. This showed that the insulation had clocked up an unbelievable 108 years of operation! Today the individual electrical sheets are no longer isolated with paper, but coated with special insulating varnish.
